Horseshoe Bend, Arizona, 2010/7/13
Once you are in Page, you have easier and quicker access to many scenic spots. Horseshoe Bend is one of them. It only takes about 15-20 minutes from Page. But you have to walk about 1km to get to the view point. The trail to view point has some parts deep in sand and some steeps up and down. If you come during summer time, make sure you bring hat or umbrella (like i did^^) to keep yourself in shade cuz the sunlight is super strong. You could easily faint if you stay in that sunlight for a while! And bring water too. Never go out without water! I found it so true, especially on my way back to the parking area.
For best pictures, I would suggest bringing your widest lens or fisheye lens so that you could take the whole view. This time I just brought the normal 18-200mm lens so you can see my angle is not wide enough.
This is the only place we happened to come twice during the tour. But we did not get bored at all. Believe me, pictures can’t tell everything. The feeling when you stand at the edge, absorbing the whole view with your own eyes, is so much different. This is when you can feel how wonder Mother Nature is!

駐車場から約1キロ(3/4 mile)歩かなければなりません。坂があり、砂浜のような歩道なので、歩きにくいです。だから、長い歩道ではないが、25ー30分もかかったと思います。結構大変です。夏に来たら、帽子、また傘を忘れないように持ってきてください！そして、水は一人一本持って行く必要があります。

The spectacular Horseshoe Bend
Người Mỹ gọi chỗ này là Horseshoe Bend, có nghĩa là cái chỗ uốn cong thành hình móng ngựa. Khu vực này nằm trong khu vực hẻm núi Glen Canyon, gần hồ Powell và đậm thủy điện Glen Canyon.
Hẻm núi hình móng ngựa này nằm rất gần thị trấn Page, chỉ cách khoảng 15-20 phút chạy xe thôi. Có điều là mình phải đậu xe và đi bộ thêm một đoạn khoảng chừng 1km nữa mới tới chỗ nhìn xuống Horseshoe Bend. Đường đi thì không dài nhưng lại hơi mệt vì phải lên dốc, xuống dốc, và có nhiều cát lún.
Nếu đi vào mùa hè thì ngoài việc dùng kem chống nắng, nên đem theo nón hoặc ô che nắng (mình đem theo cả hai thứ + găng tay nữa hehe). Dù nhiệt độ ở đây tuy không cao lắm, 99 độ F, tức là khoảng 33 độ C thôi, nhưng mà tia nắng mặt trời thì mạnh kinh khủng, cảm giác như cháy rát da vậy. Nên tốt nhất là nên đem theo tất cả những thứ có thể bao vệ được da. ^^ Đừng quên đem theo nước, ít nhất là mỗi người 1 chai, không thì sẽ cảm thấy khát cháy, nhất là lúc quay về lại chỗ đậu xe!
Con sông Colorado chảy quanh hẻm núi Glen Canyon, tạo nên nhiều uốn khúc, trong đó đẹp nhất là Horseshoe Bend này.
